- Overview
○The Division of International Liberal Arts is designed to provide international students with opportunities to explore general education and a wide range of academic disciplines before choosing a major that best suits their interests, aptitude, and career goals.
○ During the first year after admission, students complete Korean-language, general-education to strengthen their academic capabilities and adjustment to university life. The division provides systematic education and customized academic support so that students may subsequently enter a major within the Global Innovation College or transfer to a major in another college.
- Curriculum
○Major Foundations: Provides major-exploration and foundational academic courses to help international students build common core competencies before entering their chosen majors, supporting informed major selection and ensuring a smooth transition into their major studies.
○Korean-Language Education: Provides TOPIK-level-based Korean-language instruction and tailored Korean-language programs to enhance students’ language proficiency, academic abilities, and adaptation to life in Korea.
○General Education: Offers courses focused on critical thinking, communication, and global citizenship to help international students adapt to multicultural environments and develop a strong foundation in the humanities and social sciences, while supporting their balanced personal and cultural development.
- Timing and Criteria for Major Assignment
○ Major assignment takes place after completion of two semesters. GPA and other relevant factors are considered, with detailed criteria established and administered separately.

○ Cross-track major selection is permitted. After completing the first year in the The Division of International Liberal Arts, students may choose across the English and Korean tracks at the time of major assignment in the second year, provided that they satisfy the applicable language requirements.
○ Example: A student admitted to the English-track Division of International Liberal Arts may select a Korean-track major after satisfying the Korean-language requirement; a student admitted to the Korean-track Division may select an English-track major after satisfying the English-language requirement.
- Student Support and Academic Activities
○ Strengthening Belonging and Community:
Mentoring programs support international students’ initial adjustment to university life, while participation in various events expands interaction among international students and fosters a sense of belonging.
○ Customized Major-Selection Guidance
Before students enter a major, first-year career counseling, major-exploration seminars, and experiential lectures across academic fields provide individualized support based on each student’s interests and capabilities.
○ Integration of Curricular and Extracurricular Programs
Academic foundations learned in regular courses are connected with extracurricular activities such as major fairs, industry visits, and career mentoring, broadening career and major exploration and strengthening practical career-planning capabilities.
