  • Introduction to Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineering

The department is in the forefront of research and development in Refrigera- tion Engineering graduate school in Korea after founded in 1982. The department aims to research and education for the advanced theories and technologies in area of refrigeration engineering, air-conditioning engineer- ing, energy system engineering, energy utilization engineering, and their related areas in order to offer higher-quality life to human being.

    General Graduate School

Both Master's and Ph.D. degrees can be offered in this program.
To be eligible for admission to the department, a student must have a B.S. degree in engineering(the Ph.D. degree requires the completion of the M.S.) or in other pertinent programs. Application for all degree programs can be accepted in each semester. The department annually awards, on a competitive basis, a limited number of research assistantships and teaching assistantships to incoming graduate students. Additional research assistantships can be awarded by individual faculty research supervisors. Currently, almost all graduate students are financially supported by the department or individual research supervisors.

    Industry Graduate School

Both Master's degrees can be offered in this program.
The major research fields are the theories and technologies on the design of refrigeration and cryogenics system design, heating, ventilation and air conditioning system and also the development of architectural-environmental equipments, low-temperature area of refrigeration engineering are engineering mechanics, thermo-fluid dynamics, heat-transfer, strength of materials, refrigeration engineering, air-conditioning engineering, architecture environment engineering, sanitary engineering and cryogenics for more efficient use of energy, considering the aspects of global environment.
