김민재 후보생은 육군학생군사학교가 최근 진행한 ‘2020 최정예 300전투원(Top Cadet)’ 선발결과 최종 선발인원 4명의 명단에 이름을 올렸다.

‘최정예 300전투원’은 육군학생군사학교가 해마다 하계 입영훈련 대상자 가운데 체력, 독도법, 개인화기, 급속행군 등 4가지 평가를 거쳐 선발하는 최정예 후보생을 뜻한다.

올해 육군학생군사학교의 하계입영훈련에 참가한 후보생은 모두 4,000여 명.

김민재 후보생은 개인화기(사격) 평가에서 20발 중 18발을 명중시켰고, 체력 평가에서는 윗몸일으키기, 팔굽혀펴기, 3 km 달리기 등 모든 종목에서 ‘특급’ 등급을 받는 활약을 펼쳤다.

이와 함께 독도법 평가에서는 2시간 내에 표적 좌표 3개를 모두 찾아내는데 성공했다.

마지막으로 진행된 급속행군 평가에서는 20 kg의 군장을 매고 20 km의 거리를 뛰어 3시간 30분 내에 결승점에 도착, 최정예 300전투원으로 최종 선발되는 영예를 안았다.

김민재 학생은 “이번 하계입영훈련에 앞서 독도법 등을 미리 공부하고, 아령을 넣은 가방을 매고 10 km를 뛰며 급속행군도 연습해서 좋은 결과를 얻은 것 같다.”면서, “학군단 생활을 하며 규칙적인 생활로 체력 관리는 물론 시간, 성적 관리도 잘 할 수 있었는데 이번에 최정예 전투원으로 인정도 받아 정말 기쁘다.”고 말했다.

Kim Min-jae, a cadet (3rd grader, Dept. of Marine Sports) of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (Kim Hyeon-woo, General) has been recognized as an elite combatant in the army.

The cadet, Kim Min-jae, proudly has listed his name on the list of four finalists of 'Top 300 Cadets of 2020' which was recently organized by the Reserve Officers' Training Corps.

The 'Top 300 Cadets' refers to the elite cadets selected by the Reserve Officers' Training Corps through four types of evaluations, including physical strength, map reading, personal arms and equipment, and hasty march, among summer enlistment trainees every year.

A total of 4,000 cadets participated in the summer enlistment training at the Reserve Officers' Training Corps this year.

Kim Min-jae hit 18 out of 20 shots in the personal weapon (shooting) evaluation, and in the physical evaluation, he performed an active part in receiving a '1st' grade in all sports such as sit-ups, push-ups, and 3 km running.

Furthermore, in the map reading evaluation, he succeeded in finding all three target grids within 2 hours.

In the final hasty march evaluation, he fully armed weighing 20 kg and ran 20 km distance to reach the finish line within 3 hours and 30 minutes. As a result, he made himself to be named as the elite 300 combatants.

Kim Min-jae said, "Prior to this summer enlistment training, I studied map reading in advance, ran 10 km distance with dumbbells in my backpack, and practiced hasty marching, so I think I got good results," he added, “I was able to manage my physical strength and manage my time and grades well with regular life during my life in Reserve Officers' Training Corps, I am very happy to be recognized as the elite combatant this time."
