부경대, 2,000억 투입해 첨단융복합 글로컬 캠퍼스 구축한다

-소속 단과대학인 첨단실험실습강의동·글로컬융복합센터·제2수산과학관 등 정보융합대학 건물 신축

국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)가 5년간 2,000억 원을 투입해 첨단융복합 글로컬 캠퍼스 구축에 나선다고 10월 30일 밝혔다.

부경대는 첨단분야 연구개발을 선도하는 강의·실험 환경 조성을 위해 332억 원을 투입, 대연캠퍼스 정문 옆 부지에 ‘첨단실험실습강의동’을 신축하기로 하고 이달 설계용역에 들어갔다.

지하 1층, 지상 8층에 연면적 10,600㎡ 규모로 2026년 완공될 이 건물은 실험실과 클린룸, 교수실, 첨단 연구과제 연구실, 해양수산바이오 양어장 등이 들어설 예정이다.

이 건물과 연계한 ‘글로컬 융복합센터’도 2028년 완공을 목표로 내년 설계에 들어간다. 학과 신설 등 교육연구시설 확충을 위해 270억 원을 투입해 지하 2층, 지상 8층, 연면적 8,250㎡ 규모로 짓는다.

부경대가 최근 몇 년간 학사조직의 대대적인 개편에 이어 첨단산업을 중심으로 한 융복합 학문의 교육·연구 체계를 구축함에 따라, 이를 뒷받침할 수 있는 첨단융복합 글로컬 특성화 캠퍼스 환경 조성에 본격 나선 것.

부경대는 강점인 수산 분야 특성화 역량을 극대화하기 위해 399억 원을 투입해 ‘제2수산과학관’도 짓는다. 31일 사업 실시협약을 시작으로 공사에 들어가 2026년 완공하면, 흩어져 있던 수산계열 학과의 강의·연구·실험실습실 등을 지하 1층, 지상 14층, 연면적 17,000㎡ 건물에 집적화해 시너지 효과를 낸다는 계획이다.

이와 함께 미래산업 분야 전공을 따로 배치해 지난해 출범한 정보융합대학의 교육연구시설 확충을 위해 100억 원을 들여 지하 1층, 지상 6층, 연면적 4,684㎡의 건물을 2025년까지 짓는 한편, 학생복지지설 개선을 위해 345억 원을 투입, 지하 1층, 지상 10층, 연면적 14,000㎡에 이르는 학생회관을 지어 2026년 문을 열 예정이다.

이 밖에도 부경대는 내년까지 55억 원을 들여 인문사회·경영관을 증축하는 등 최근 완료한 중앙도서관 증축, 수상레저관 신설과 함께 교육, 연구 환경 첨단화 및 융복합화에 박차를 가한다는 계획이다.

특히 부경대는 대연캠퍼스의 특성화 캠퍼스 구축과 함께 용당캠퍼스에 530억 원을 투입해 도시형 첨단 산업단지를 조성하는 캠퍼스 혁신파크 사업도 완공되면 명실상부 지역 교육·연구·지산학 특성화 거점으로 거듭날 것으로 기대하고 있다. <부경투데이>

PKNU invests 200 billion won to build a high-tech convergence glocal campus

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced on October 30 that the university invest 200 billion won over five years to build a high-tech convergence glocal campus.

The university invests 33.2 billion won to create a lecture and experiment environment that leads research and development in high-tech fields, decided to build a new 'high-tech laboratory lecture building' on the site next to the main gate of Daeyeon campus, and began design services this month.

This building, which will be completed in 2026 with a total floor area of 10,600㎡ with one story below and eight above the ground, will contain a laboratory, clean rooms, professors' offices, state-of-the-art research laboratories, and marine and fisheries bio fish farm.

The 'Glocal convergence center' linked to this building will also begin design next year with the goal of completion in 2028. To expand educational and research facilities, including the establishment of new departments, 27 billion won will be invested to build a building with two stories below and 8 above the ground with a total floor area of 8,250㎡.

As Pukyong National University has established a convergence academic education and research system centered on high-tech industries following a major reorganization of the academic organization in recent years, the university has begun in earnest to create a high-tech convergence glocal specialized campus environment that can support it.

Pukyong National University is also investing 39.9 billion won to build the 'fisheries science building 2' to maximize its capabilities in specializing in the fisheries field, which is its strength. When construction begins on the 31st with a business implementation agreement and is completed in 2026, Pukyong National University is expecting to create a synergy effect by integrating the scattered lectures, research, and laboratory rooms of the fisheries department into a building with one story below and fourteen above the ground with a total floor area of 17,000㎡.

In addition, in order to separately place future industry majors and expand the educational and research facilities in the college of information technology and convergence, which was launched last year, Pukyong National University will spend 10 billion won to build a building with one story below and six above the ground with a total floor area of 4,684㎡ by 2025, and to improve student welfare facilities, and will invest another 34.5 billion won to build a student center with one story below and ten above the ground with a total floor area of 14,00㎡, which is scheduled to open in 2026.

Above this, Pukyong National University plans to spend 5.5 billion won to expand the Humanities and social sciences building and business administration building by next year, expand the recently completed central library, and build a new water leisure center to accelerate the advancement and convergence of the education and research environment.

Pukyong National University expects that once the Campus innovation park project, which will create an urban high-tech industrial complex by investing 53 billion won in the Yongdang campus along with the construction of a specialized campus at the Daeyeon Campus, is completed, the university will be reborn as a truly specialized base for local education, research, and local-industry-academy.
